| Even though diamonds are the hardest substance known to man, a diamond will scratch another diamond. So it is important that jewelry not be stored together since it can be scratched or tangled. Also, diamond jewelry should never be worn while doing heavy work. Points are vulnerable to chipping and even everyday activity can loosen a setting. This is why it’s important to visit a professional jeweler every six months to have your diamond’s mountings and settings checked. With proper care, your diamond jewelry will last a lifetime. Here are some tips to keep your jewelry looking fabulous: |
| Storing Your Diamond Jewelry: |
♦ Clean diamonds and most color gemstones in warm, soapy water with a soft toothbrush. Rinse completely and dry with a clean, soft cloth. A solution of one part ammonia and six parts water can be used to clean diamond jewelry at home. If cleaning by hand, gentle scrubbing with a soft brush should loosen most dirt and greatly increase the brilliance of the diamond, but be careful not to scratch the metal of your setting. Once a year, it is a good idea to have your diamond cleaned and have the security of the setting checked.
♦ Remove your jewelry before showering, swimming, cleaning, sleeping, doing rough work or handling harmful chemicals - including hair care products and perfume.
♦ Do not expose gemstone jewelry to sudden temperature changes, which may cause cracks.

Phenomenal Service and Quality at an Affordable Price
On Monday, August 2, 2010, I visited the MDC Diamonds staff at their office in the popular NYC's diamond district. The staff, especially Rosa, was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and down to earth. They had a no pressure approach and advised me in choosing my asscher cut diamond earrings, which I receive complements on almost daily. Rosa took the time to show me the differences between two types of asscher cuts and provided me with the option to choose each stone to be set, which were ready the next day.
